Orlando Pirates part ways with defender Olisa Ndah

By Zenzile Dlamini

Orlando Pirates have confirmed the departure of Nigerian defender Olisa Ndah during the ongoing January transfer window.

The 28-year-old centre-back, who made 55 appearances for the Soweto giants, has been sidelined for more than a year and has not featured for the Buccaneers since suffering a long-term injury in the previous Betway Premiership season. Once a key pillar in Pirates’ defence, Ndah’s prolonged absence saw him miss an entire campaign without returning to matchday action.

While the club has not disclosed further details regarding the terms of his exit, the decision officially brings an end to Ndah’s spell at Orlando Pirates, a club he joined in 2021, as he now looks toward the next chapter of his career.

Before arriving in South Africa, Ndah had established himself in Nigerian football with Remo Stars and Akwa United, where he made 16 and 37 appearances respectively between 2019 and 2021.
Ndah’s football journey began at the age of 12 when he joined Delta Stars, before moving on to four different clubs between 2015 and 2018. His major breakthrough came during the 2018/19 season when he joined Remo Stars, a move that ultimately paved the way for his switch to Orlando Pirates.

At international level, Ndah has represented Nigeria, earning three caps for the Under-23 side and four appearances for the senior national team.
