Fans of Lekompo musician, Melita Mogale, popularly known as Kharishma, have expressed growing concern after her official Facebook page — which had more than 600,000 followers — was unexpectedly taken down.
The sudden disappearance of the 21-year old Limpopo rising star from Facebook comes as the Matome hitmaker continues to recover in hospital following a serious car accident on 31 October 2025.
Supporters, who had been closely monitoring her social media platforms for updates on her condition, were left puzzled and anxious by the deactivation of her accounts.
The crash occurred at the corner of Grobler and Magazyn streets as Kharishma was returning from a performance. Tragically, the accident claimed the lives of the driver, 24-year-old Vincent Maphopha, who died at the scene, and a passenger, 26-year-old Juddy Mabule, who later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
Supporters say the removal of her Facebook page has only deepened the uncertainty surrounding her recovery. Michele Mashaba, a devoted fan, described the silence as distressing.
“The silence about her recovery was unbearable, and now taking down the account we use to check for updates has only worsened the anxiety,” Mashaba said.
Others believe Kharishma’s management could have handled the situation more transparently. An anonymous supporter said a simple explanation would have helped calm fans.
“The management could have at least released a statement explaining the reasons for the deactivation. That way, as fans, we would be settled,” the supporter said.
The incident highlights both the fragility of life and the powerful connection between artists and their audiences in the digital age.
As the Lekompo community continues to rally behind her, fans remain hopeful for Kharishma’s full recovery — and for her eventual return to music and social media, where they can once again follow her journey.
